General office clerk
The training is divided between training in-company and school. Office clerks take on commercial and organizational tasks in bookkeeping, purchasing and sales. During the three-year training course they experience the various spheres of operation. The vocational school classes are held every week in Heide, where they will learn about additional theoretical knowledge necessary for the work.
What are the requirements?
You should have at least a good to very good high-school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss) as well as an interest in modern communication systems. Basic knowledge of English would be an advantage. It is also important to enjoy interaction with others and to have an open outgoing manner. The training begins annually on 01 August.
Shipping Clerk
During the three-year training period in Glückstadt and Brunsbüttel you will learn step-by-step the areas of responsibility of a shipping clerk. You will organize transportation of goods by ship and take care of chartering. Shipping clerks inform customers of the transportation modes, freight rates, packaging and insurance. They negotiate freight rates, finalize shipping contracts and make sure that the conditions in the contracts are kept to.
The necessary theoretical knowledge will be taught in a full-time course blocks at the vocational school in Kiel.
What are the requirements?
As well as a good to very good high-school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss) you should have good communication skills in German and English and enjoy interaction with others. An interest in organization and commercial content is also an important requirement. The training begins annually on 01 August.
‘Triales Modell’ – Industrial business clerk and Bachelor of Arts for Business Administration (BWL)
The term ‘Triales Modell’ really means cooperation between companies providing training, vocational schools and universities. The ‘Triales Modell’ combines professional training with a university course of studies. This makes it possible for dedicated high school graduates (Abitur) to gain a professional qualification and a bachelor title in only four years.
During the two-year training period to qualify as an industrial clerk you will learn commercial business fields of activity such as, materials management, sales and marketing as well as finance and accounting.
The theoretical knowledge will be taught in a full-time course blocks at the vocational school in Itzehoe.
After qualifying as an industrial clerk the business administration programme begins at the FH Westküste polytechnic in Heide. Our training programme leads directly into the 3rd semester. After successful completion of the two years of study you will qualify as a bachelor of arts, a qualification in business administration.
What are the requirements?
Admission requirements include a very good high school leaving certificate (Abitur) with good knowledge of English. You should be open and enjoy working with others. The combination of training and working in the profession requires special dedication and a willingness to learn. The ‘Triales Modell’ begins annually on 01 August.
IT specialist for system integration
IT specialists for system integration plan and configure IT systems. They create systems to meet requirements, they administer using their technical, business and organizational knowledge. As a service provider for their own company they deal with problems that occur and consult the users.
During the three-year training course the theoretical knowledge necessary for the job will be taught at the vocational school in Meldorf.
What are the requirements?
Minimum requirements include: a very good high school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss). In addition you should be interested in IT systems and software production as well as good communication skills.
The training begins annually on 01 August.
Architectural draughts person specializing in architectural engineering
During the three-year training course you will first learn the basics of creating architectural documents and drawings for buildings. Following design sketches and instructions from architects and building engineers you will learn, in a step by step process, to independently create ground plans, building, layout and function plans, building views and detailed drawings. The various technical regulations must be adhered to during the process. The necessary theoretical knowledge will be taught in a full-time course at the vocational school in Rendsburg.
What are the requirements?
Minimum requirements include: a very good high school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss). Good spacial perception is important and a talent for drawing. The training begins annually on 01 August.
Mechanic for agricultural machinery and structural engineering
The training is three-and-a-half years. During this time you will learn all about maintenance (servicing, inspection, maintenance and improvement) of technical systems, plant, equipment and other machinery. In addition you will carry out defect and malfunction diagnosis in mechanical and hydraulic systems to isolate the cause(s). You will also equip agricultural and building machinery with accessories and auxiliary equipment. The necessary theoretical knowledge will be taught in a full-time course in the vocational school in Itzehoe.
What are the requirements?
In addition to a very good, to good, intermediate school-leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss) you should have a talent for manual skills and an understanding of technology. The training begins annually on 01 August.
Certified specialist in port operations/logistics
As a port logistics specialist you ensure smooth procedures in goods handling. The job includes organizing appropriate handling and suitable modes of transport for incoming and outgoing goods. You compile cargo for on-carriage by ship, road or rail. In the office you deal with freight, shipping and handling documents.
The theoretical knowledge necessary for the job will be taught in a full-time course in the vocational school in Hamburg.
What are the requirements?
In addition to a very good, to good, intermediate school-leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss), or even a high school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss), you should have good communication skills and enjoy planning and organizing. The training begins annually on 01 August.
